Large-Format Trailer Graphic Planning

Plan the Largest Panels in the Fleet With Precision

Trailer graphics must work across long viewing distances and complicated bodies. Smooth or corrugated skins, rivets, seams, swing or roll-up doors, side skirts, reflective markings, placard areas, refrigeration equipment, curtain hardware, repairs, and mixed coatings all affect the design and installation plan.

We begin with the trailer roster, body manufacturer when known, length and height, photos, door configuration, substrate, equipment, existing livery, accessible surface condition, dispatch availability, and approved brand assets. That information guides coverage, message scale, panel breaks, film selection, and unit-by-unit production files.

Design, large-format printing, lamination, labeling, and installation are managed from our 10,000 sq ft Linden facility. For fleet programs, approved layouts are adapted across compatible body types and scheduled in phases around actual trailer availability.

Trailers We Wrap

Graphics for Dry Vans, Reefers and Specialty Trailers

Every trailer class requires its own substrate, equipment, access, safety-marking, and installation review. Suitability is confirmed from the actual unit rather than assumed from length alone.

Large Format 53ft Dry Van Trailers

53ft Dry Van Trailers

Long side walls and rear doors for regional and long-haul fleet identity.

Smooth or corrugated skin, body height, seams, rivets, swing or roll-up doors, side skirts, reflective markings, repairs, and existing livery are documented before coverage and film are specified.
Equipment-Aware Reefer / Refrigerated Trailers

Reefer / Refrigerated Trailers

Refrigerated bodies used by food, beverage, grocery, and cold-chain operators.

Layouts preserve access to the refrigeration unit, vents, fuel system, service panels, warnings, and required clear areas. Substrate, coating, temperatures, and equipment restrictions guide product selection.
Flatbed Trailers — Side Curtains & Headboards

Flatbed Trailers — Side Curtains & Headboards

Curtain-side trailers (Conestoga, Donovan, side-curtain Roland) and traditional flatbeds with headboards and stake-pocket rails.

The curtain itself is wrapped using printed PVC sheet material that's heat-welded — not vinyl over metal — and we coordinate directly with curtain replacement vendors when a curtain is past its service life. Headboards and bulkheads are wrapped in standard cast vinyl. Flatbed wraps are common for building supply, lumber, steel coil, and heavy haul operators who run high-visibility regional lanes.
48ft & 28ft Pup Trailers

48ft & 28ft Pup Trailers

Regional and LTL equipment that may need matched graphics across sets.

The approved system is adapted to the shorter body, door configuration, reflective markings, and unit identifiers. Fleet roster and dispatch rotation guide batch planning.
Tanker Trailers

Tanker Trailers

Liquid and dry-bulk tankers — food-grade, chemical, fuel, and asphalt.

Tankers are wrapped using vinyl rated for the specific chemical exposure profile of the cargo, and hazmat placard zones are templated and left clear per 49 CFR 172. We wrap the round body, baffles, manhole covers, and rear cabinet — leaving access for load lines, valves, and PTO connections. Less common than dry-van work, but a strong branding canvas for milk haulers, bulk-food carriers, and energy services.
Intermodal Containers & Chassis

Intermodal Containers & Chassis

20ft and 40ft intermodal containers used in port drayage and rail-served distribution.

We wrap containers in cast vinyl that handles the corrugated wall pattern, and we coordinate the wrap window with the container's rotation through the port. Chassis wrapping is generally limited to lettering. Common for drayage operators working Port Newark, Elizabeth Marine Terminal, and the rail yards in NJ and PA.
Livestock & Specialty Trailers

Livestock & Specialty Trailers

Livestock haulers, car carriers, dump trailers, and specialty single-purpose units.

Each has its own template needs — ventilated walls on livestock trailers, deck plates on car haulers, hinged sides on dumps. We handle them as one-off projects with custom templating rather than fleet rollouts, and we'll quote them after a yard visit or a detailed photo set.
Trailer Wrap Cost Factors

What Determines the Cost of Wrapping a Trailer?

Length and coverage establish material scale, while body construction, height, corrugation, doors, rivets, equipment, reflective markings, surface condition, old graphics, artwork, quantity, access, and dispatch schedule shape the final quote.

How a Trailer Wrap Project Runs

From Trailer Roster to Installed Fleet Graphics

From the first call to the trailer rolling out of our bay, here's how a typical trailer wrap project moves through our shop.

1

Roster & Configuration Review

Share trailer count, body type, length, height, doors, equipment, ownership, photos, surface condition, current livery, operating locations, and dispatch constraints.

2

Measurement, Design & Approval

Templates, verified measurements, and reference photos guide the layout. Graphics are planned around seams, doors, equipment, markings, placards, and useful sightlines for written approval.

3

Print & Panel Organization

Approved files are produced on the selected film system, laminated when specified, cut, labeled by trailer and panel, and checked against the approved proof.

4

Preparation, Installation & Review

The trailer is inspected, cleaned, prepared, installed by approved surface, and reviewed before release. Timing is confirmed after scope, condition, and intake planning.

Trailer Wrap ROI

Build Recognition Across Routes, Yards and Delivery Points

Trailers create broad, repeated brand surfaces wherever they travel, park, load, and unload. Actual exposure depends on routes, mileage, traffic, dwell time, viewing distance, creative quality, and fleet size, so performance should be tracked rather than assumed.

Routes
Carry consistent identity across regional and long-haul lanes
Yards
Keep fleet branding visible during staging and dwell time
Side + Rear
Plan for passing traffic and vehicles approaching from behind
One System
Adapt approved graphics across compatible trailer types
Trackable
Use dedicated response paths and lead-source questions
Owned Asset
Use operating equipment as transportation and a branded surface
Trailer Wrap FAQ

Trailer Wrap Frequently Asked Questions

How much does it cost to wrap a 53 foot trailer?
A 53-foot trailer wrap quote depends on body construction, height, coverage, smooth or corrugated skin, door style, rivets and seams, existing graphics, surface condition, reflective markings, equipment, artwork readiness, film system, quantity, access, and schedule. Photos and complete trailer specifications are required for accurate pricing.
How long does it take to wrap a semi trailer?
Timing depends on trailer size and construction, coverage, artwork approval, preparation, old-graphic removal, equipment clearance, material availability, vehicle access, fleet quantity, dispatch constraints, and current production capacity. We confirm a production and installation schedule after reviewing the full scope.
How long do trailer wraps last?
Expected service life varies by the selected film and laminate, trailer substrate, panel orientation, mileage, sun and weather exposure, washing, storage, road conditions, maintenance, and removal timing. We explain the manufacturer's applicable guidance for the specified system rather than promising one lifespan for every trailer.
Do I need a wrap or just USDOT lettering on my trailer?
Required identifiers and markings depend on the vehicle, carrier, operation, cargo, routes, and current federal, state, and local rules. The fleet owner should verify requirements with the appropriate authority or advisor. We can produce and place customer-approved carrier and unit information within the graphic plan.
Can you wrap a reefer trailer without affecting the refrigeration unit?
Reefer graphics are planned around the refrigeration unit, vents, fuel system, service panels, warnings, and required access areas. The body substrate, coating, operating temperatures, and equipment manufacturer's restrictions must be reviewed before film selection and installation.
How much advertising value does a wrapped trailer deliver per year?
There is no universal impression or advertising-value figure for a wrapped trailer. Exposure varies with routes, mileage, traffic, parking, dwell time, viewing distance, creative quality, and fleet size. Businesses can evaluate performance with dedicated phone numbers, URLs, QR codes, lead-source questions, and route-aware campaign tracking.
Can you wrap a leased trailer?
A leased trailer may be wrapped only with written approval from the owner or lessor and confirmation that the agreement permits graphics. The surface must also pass inspection. Removable film does not eliminate coating or removal risk, and return-condition requirements should be documented before production.
What's the difference between a partial wrap and a full wrap on a trailer?
A full wrap coordinates graphics across most approved exterior panels. A partial wrap focuses on selected side walls, rear doors, nose panels, or another useful combination and incorporates the existing finish. The right scope depends on routes, viewing angles, surface condition, equipment, budget, lease restrictions, and message.
Do you handle fleet rebrands of 20, 30, or 50 trailers?
Yes. We can organize artwork and production files by unit, adapt approved layouts across trailer configurations, batch compatible production, and plan phased intake around dispatch. Share the roster, body types, locations, availability, existing livery, and rollout deadline for scheduling.
What if my trailer is corrugated, not smooth-skin?
Some corrugated trailer bodies can accept graphics, but the profile depth, substrate, coating, seams, rivets, repairs, corrosion, and selected film must be evaluated. Corrugation changes material use, artwork distortion, installation method, and schedule; unsuitable surfaces or recesses may be excluded.
Will a wrap damage the trailer when it's removed?
Trailer graphic film is designed for compatible, sound surfaces, but a damage-free removal cannot be guaranteed. Weak coatings, corrosion, repairs, existing damage, incompatible substrates, exposure, adhesive aging, and delayed or improper removal can affect the result. We inspect accessible areas and recommend professional removal within the planned window.
Do you service trailers based outside NJ and NYC?

Trailer Wrap Reviews

Recent feedback from Hawk Wraps clients across New Jersey, New York, and Connecticut.

★★★★★
We wrapped our enclosed trailer for trade shows and corporate events throughout the Northeast. Tito understood that this trailer would represent our brand at every venue, so the finish had to be perfect. The graphics lined up beautifully across the panels, and the colors look incredible in person. It definitely attracts attention wherever we park.
Brian K.Event Production Company · Manhattan, NY
★★★★★
Our equipment trailer was looking worn out after years on the road. Luis recommended a full wrap instead of repainting, and it completely changed the appearance. Customers now recognize our trailer before they even see our crews working. We've received compliments from other contractors asking where it was done.
Heather L.Landscaping Company · Yonkers, NY
★★★★★
We wanted our jobsite trailer to promote the company while storing equipment. Gabby coordinated the artwork approvals and kept us informed through every stage. The installation quality exceeded expectations, especially around the doors and hardware where I expected problems. Everything came out clean and professional.
Mark E.Construction Contractor · Paterson, NJ
★★★★★
Our promotional trailer travels across New York and New Jersey for product launches, so appearance is everything. Alex made sure every graphic matched our brand guidelines exactly. The finished trailer photographs beautifully at events and has become a major part of our marketing setup.
Ashley W.Mobile Marketing Agency · Brooklyn, NY
★★★★★
We added graphics to our enclosed trailer so it matched the rest of our fleet. The team recreated the branding perfectly and even improved the layout for better visibility on the road. Tito kept everything on schedule, and the finished trailer looks like it was built that way from the factory.
